The Transformative Process of Ekphrastic Response: A Poetry Workshop with Writer Nancy Dafoe
In appreciation of works displayed at the library by artists Harry McCue and June Szabo
This is an in-person combined poetry workshop and artist reception. There will be time for Q&A, socializing, and refreshments as well as learning how to use the ekphrastic form in response to visual art.
Dafoe, a nationally awarded writer in poetry, prose poetry, and fiction, has taught at the high school and college level. She has published ten books, including two books of poetry. https://www.nancydafoebooks.com/
Nancy has participated in ekphrastic poetry events at the Schweinfurth Art Center, this is her poem Red in response to Carol Miraben‘s Teal.
