Lodi Library’s Literacy Hub – Dyslexia & Literacy Resources for Children, Parents/Guardians & Teachers

Thanks to a generous grant from the Finger Lakes Library System’s Outreach Committee, we are in the process of creating Lodi Library’s Literacy Hub. Our goal is to have resources on our shelves that are useful for those struggling to read (of all ages); their parents/guardians and their teachers.

We are proud to be partnering with Teach My Child to Read, a not-for-profit whose goal is “to help all children become skilled readers through systematic partnership with libraries that provide education about how we learn to read, and access to resources such as decodable books.

We are working now to put the decodables, hi-lo readers and other resources on our shelves. We would be thrilled to show you our current collection and look forward to continuing to build Lodi Library’s Literacy Hub to be a welcoming and safe place for all of us involved with helping someone learn to read.

Please take a look at all Teach My Child to Read has to offer.

Other resources that Beth (Lodi Library’s Director and mother of a severely dyslexic child) recommends are:

Wise Owl Services : a dyslexia specialist and tutor, Lorna Wooldridge, was the keystone of our original grant. She provided us with a list of resources at the very beginning!

More to come soon!
