We are proud to announce that during the annual meeting of members of the Finger Lakes Library System, held on October 25 at the Ithaca Country Club, Lodi Library Board President Karel Titus was presented with the 2013 Ruth Polson Distinguished Service Award. Karel has served on the Lodi Library Board for a number of years and has worked to secure increased funding for programs and events. She is well known for her attendance at town and county board meetings, library training sessions and other library related activities, and is currently involved in the planning of a new library for Lodi. Amy Zuch, Executive Director of the Finger Lakes Library System, before presenting the award, described Titus as “a tireless supporter of libraries,” and said “she has been and continues to be a shining example of what one person with a passion and drive can do to make a community a better place to live.” We are lucky to have such a hardworking and talented woman leading our board, thank you Karel!
